Cycling

My relationship with bikes started around 2004 when a friend and I decided that we were to bike across Canada (our country) someday. Eventually, we decided that the summer of 2007 would be the perfect timing in both of our lives, so I actually started to bike in 2006 for training.

Over the last 4 years, I had the chance to bike across my country, around Montreal (where I live) and in the province of Quebec as well as to bike from Halifax to Texas last year. Also, I’ve owned 3 different bikes and I decided that the later one would be a custom built. In order to accomplish those things with a minimum level of success, I relayed heavily on blogs and guides written by people like me. This section is about giving back my own experiences to you guys.

Bikes

devinci2Devinci Silverstone – 2006-2008:

My first bike. I learned to ride on this one and bike across Canada with it. I was planning to keep it all my life, but it got stolen in July 2008.

allezSpecialized Allez – 2008-2009

I was preparing to bike to Texas when I got the Devinci stolen, so I had to buy another one fast. I didn’t have enough time/money to get something similar to the original. I ended up with that new bike which was perfect for the trip. But I didn’t have any fun riding it around Montréal, so I sold it shortly after.

While reading a lot about bikes on the internet, I noticed that interesting trend about fixies. Luckily for me, I also found about a less flashy trend for touring fixies and I decided to build one with my tastes in mind. I use it daily for commute and for occasional short trips outside the city.
